Generations at Columbus Park’s activity staff celebrates the beginning of each month with a new decorative poster board that lists a calendar of daily activities, a thought of the day and a daily chronicle that lists history facts and celebrity birthdays. Also on display is art work created by residents that showcase their awesome talents.
Generations at Columbus Park residents are now enjoying the gorgeous weather with the activity aides by taking a walk up to two times a week in the local neighborhood. Residents can take in the wonderful sights and sounds of their neighborhoods, get exercise and visit the local grocer to buy personal items.
The activity aides also assists and organize monthly trips to the local library, Lincoln Park Zoo, Old Country Buffet and more where residents can experience new and exciting venues and restaurants.
The activity aides reflect on what makes Generations at Columbus Park’s residents so special:
Mildred Stokes – “Our residents always have a story to tell and it is never a dull moment, they feel like family and treat us like family. We are a great unit.”
Michelle Allen – “I enjoy that it is a diverse group of residents and they are always there with a smile and they can turn your day around.”
Trevell Phinisee – “For me this job provides a platform for me to be a confidant as well as a light in the building. All residents have great stories and I am here to listen and learn.”
